My dataset was used with an inappropriate license!

There are currently circulating more than 10 (!) datasets on Roboflow Universe that were released with a different license when I was doing my PhD research. Basically all datasets that were uploaded by user “Broccoli” and also “CDEI” have reused and reuploaded my original dataset that was originally released under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, but they have reuploaded it under the CC BY 4.0 license without referring to its origins (my dataset).

This is against the original license agreement and I would like to have appropriate action by either removing the datasets or make them refer to my original datasets.

I trust the people from Roboflow take appropriate action. Thank you in advance.

Hi @pieterblok,
Happy to help here! To ensure a thorough resolution, can you please provide a complete list of the universe datasets that are in violation here? Again, I want to ensure a thorough resolution to this matter.

Thank you!!

@Ford thank you for your kind reaction.

The last time I made a list with links but I was only allowed to have 2 links as new user, so I’ll give the names if that’s ok:

  • Broccoli by CDEI
  • broccoli merged by Broccoli
  • broccoli-sexbierum by Broccoli
  • broccoli-sexbierum 2 by Broccoli
  • broccoli-sexbierum 3 by Broccoli
  • broccoli merge 3 by Broccoli
  • broccoli by UoL

Maybe I missed a few, but these are the ones that use my data without referencing and with changing the license of my original dataset.

Please let me know if this works or if I need to provide more information.

Thanks in advance,
Pieter

Good Morning @pieterblok!
My pleasure, happy to help here. Thank you for the provided list, I have addressed the improperly attributed and licensed datasets.

Have a wonderful day!

@Ford thanks for doing this thoroughly and quickly.

I noticed a few more datasets that I previously missed:

  • merge final by Broccoli
  • Brocolie_2 by Brocolie
  • N/A_broccoli_v1 by broccolidetection
  • cross-val-1 by broccoli
  • cross-val-250 by broccoli

That indeed makes it more than 10

Thank you for helping me!
