Hi, I’m interested in the Book Inventory System described in the blog below, but I don’t know who to contact for more information and to discuss. Thanks, Bill
James from Roboflow here. How can we help?
Hi James, I’m trying to source a system for cataloguing my friends private library, having in excess of 5,000 books, using AI to extract the book data from images of the front cover, and the system described in the blog below looks ideal. What I’m wondering, can this system be available for a single domestic user, and if so what would be a rough order of initial costs, and then ongoing costs for the occasional adding of books.

Thanks, Bill
Thank you for the information! The blog post walks through all of the code you need to make the application work. To use the code, you will need a Roboflow and an OpenAI API key. The Roboflow API key will let you use the object detection model to find the book, and the OpenAI key will let you read the title of a book passed through the system.
Otherwise, the code is free to use and run on your own hardware.
Note that we don’t have a hosted version of this system so we can’t provide a cost estimate. Costs will depend on the number of books, and the OpenAI model you use. See Roboflow’s pricing and OpenAI’s pricing for more information about pricing.
Thank you James that’s most helpful
