# Keypoints in COCO format does not upload keypoint names and skeleton

When I upload a new dataset in the [COCO format](https://roboflow.com/formats/coco-keypoint), the dataset does not recognize the keypoint names - renames them to “kp\_\*” and skeleton connections dissapear.

What works is to pick the annotation group in the project creation, but I am at the phase that I do not have one.

## Why this is the issue?

- This makes me unable to upload brand new preannotated dataset, with predefined keypoints.
- Only solution is to manually name the keypoints and connect the skeletons, difficult with 50+ keypoints.

## How to reproduce

1. Take an existing dataset, e.g. [https://universe.roboflow.com/roboflow-jvuqo/football-field-detection-f07vi](https://universe.roboflow.com/roboflow-jvuqo/football-field-detection-f07vi)
2. Download the lastest version with “Download Dataset” button into COCO format. Save the zip file.
3. Create a new project in the roboflow app → pick “Keypoint Detection” and do not pick “Share annotations between projects”, since we do not have another dataset.
4. In the empty project, go “Upload Data”, select the download .zip file from the step 2.
5. View the dataset:

Hey @mohwald

Thanks for the very well-explained report. I could reproduce it easily, and it’s fixed on the platform.

I just imported the same keypoint dataset successfully, showing the same labels and keypoint names as in Universe.

Unfortunetaly, the error is still there. Do you want me to provide some more infomation about this?
