# Download model for local use without API

I would like to download one trained model -
Is there a way to purchase the one-time download?
The basic subscription doesn’t make sense for my small private project

Hi there - Yes, weights download is available on the Basic subscription which you can upgrade to for one month which allows for you to download the weights.
Even in cases where you download, you will likely still want a commercial license to use it (which is part of the Growth plan).

That means I would have to take out the Basic subscription once, pay $49, download my model so I can use it locally and then cancel the Basic subscription?

You wouldn’t be covered by a commercial license to use the model in that case.
For local deployments we recommend our [inference](https://github.com/roboflow/inference) package, which supports [Workflows](https://roboflow.com/workflows) (our logic builder) and is optimized for multiple deployment targets.

I only use the model for myself in a private setting, so I haven’t thought about licenses yet.
At the moment I’m training my model myself, and it would be interesting to see whether Roboflow training produces even better results.
