# Can I use the dataset from roboflow universe to publish my paper

Hi, I found a dataset from robotflow universe which is very suitable for my work. And I am planning to use it to publish an academic paper based on it. The link of the dataset is [https://universe.roboflow.com/workspace-z0yvw/fish-pms4w](https://universe.roboflow.com/workspace-z0yvw/fish-pms4w). Do I need to get approval from the owners who upload this dataset? Or just citing the dataset is good enough?

The license on that dataset is [Creative Commons by Attribution 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) which means you can use it so long as you cite them. (The citation snippet is available on the page you linked:)
