If you have an eligible educational/academic email address, you can automatically select the Research Plan by going into Settings > Plan & Billing.
If you are on a trial or paid plan, you must first switch or cancel to the Public plan.
The Research and Public plans require data to be public and shared so others in the open source community can benefit. For private data, please see the pricing page.
